How would you like to drive? (optional, check any)
Can you cover the upfront costs? *

About $200 for screening, plus the first week's $475 lease if leasing.

You'll need these funds before you can start. You can still reserve a seat, and we'll follow up when you're ready.

At 1–2 days a week, the $475 weekly lease takes up most of what you'd earn. Driving your own car with commercial insurance may fit you better.

What you'll learn at the seminar

Before you spend a dollar, we walk you through exactly how the work, the money and the setup work, so you can decide if it's right for you.

How paratransit works

Picking up and dropping off riders, often seniors and people with disabilities, going to medical appointments, work and errands.

The real numbers

What drivers actually take home, what you pay for (lease or insurance, gas, screening) and how to make the week pay.

Lease vs. your own car

Which option fits you, how leasing through an independent fleet operator works, and how commercial insurance works if you drive your own car.

Screening & approval

The background check, drug test and DOT physical, what the contractor looks for, and how long approval takes.

Setting your schedule

You choose when you drive. We'll show you why the drivers who drive consistently are the ones who earn the most.

Running it as a business

You're self-employed. We cover the basics: tracking expenses, setting money aside for taxes and keeping your record clean.

The money, honestly

We'd rather you know the real numbers now than be surprised later.

$250–$300typical net per day after expenses, leasing, 8–10 hour days
$475 / weekvehicle lease, commercial insurance included
Your gasdrivers pay their own fuel, and their own taxes
~$200 upfrontbackground check, drug test & DOT physical

Earnings are typical, not guaranteed. They depend on hours driven, consistency and expenses. The lease is a flat weekly cost, so it pays best when you drive most days.

Fastest start

Lease a vehicle

$475 / week
  • Toyota Prius hybrids, easy on gas (you pay your own fuel)
  • Leased from an independent fleet operator that does specialty leasing
  • Commercial insurance is included
  • No miles or wear on your own car
  • It's your lease, so you can also use it for rideshare, food delivery or getting around the city

Drive your own car

~$5,200 / year insurance
  • You carry your own commercial insurance (roughly $100/week)
  • Less expensive week to week if you already have a reliable car
  • Takes longer to set up because insurance has to be in place first
  • Many drivers start leasing, then switch to their own car

Is this a good fit?

You'll need

  • To be 25 or older (insurance policy requirement)
  • A valid Illinois driver's license and a good driving record
  • No DUI/DWI. The contractor will not approve drivers with a DUI.
  • To pass a background check, drug test and DOT physical
  • About $200 for screening, plus your first week's lease if leasing

Probably not for you if

  • You have a DUI/DWI, or several recent tickets or accidents
  • You're looking for an hourly W-2 job with benefits. This is self-employment.
  • You can only drive a few hours here and there
  • You can't cover the upfront screening and lease costs
